Downloaded Easy DNC 4.7 today and trying, for the first time, to communicate with a Fanuc Series 16 controller on a Makino A-77. Reviewed data on DNC setup, changed parameters as indicated, built cable and rang it out several times (yes, 6-8-20 are connected) and am using a docking station so that I have a true COM3 port.

Corporate IT provides us with these wonderful PC's that incorporate nice firewalls and all kinds of other jazz. Could that be the issue causing the Com Error? Is this Laptop just too "network-y" to work?

I know that the NC interface works because the Fanuc tech who installed some upgrades on a new A-81 was able to access it. Really like the simplicity of this software - just need to know if I need to downgrade on PC. Thanks,

You're sure tha data bits and parity are set correctly.?

A-Ha...fat fingered the parity when i was setting up. works like an absolute charm...already put in a request for our IT group to purchase at least two licenses. Here I have been fighting with Pro-Comm for years. Pro-Comm works well with a Series O controller but other than that, I haven't had much luck with it. Thank you for the help...
