By: Mark M | Posted on: Jan 25 2013 at 01:22:39 PM | Came in this morn to find our Tailift punch missing from the easyDNC.? how can I either find it or re-install it? I am new to the easyDNC, please be kind. All that is listed now on the easyDNC is "Add a Machine", so where do I go frm there? There also used to be a problem where if I had a long run the DNC would get stuck in the sending mode and the program would have to be cleared before calling up another.? Any suggestions?

Second question about getting stuck in sending mode. I assume you mean that it gets all the way to the end - the CNC has completed the program but easyDnc sticks at 99% or thereabouts. This is caused by the CNC closing the port while easyDnc still has a couple of bytes that the CNC does want/need. Obviously easyDnc doesn't know that the CNC doesn't want those bytes so it waits faithfully forever if need be. Normally clicking the easyDnc STOP button tells easyDnc to stop waiting. Or simply hit the CNC's read button which opens the port for a moment allowing easyDnc to unload.

I had the same thoughs on the 2nd question, it's really not a big deal, sometimes just annoying.
Any help with the setup or re-setup of the machine is appreciated. MM

When you double click the Add Machine icon on the computer that adds a new icon. Each CNC icon in easydnc stores the profile, all the settings such as the baud rate etc, for one CNC. Once youve made a new icon you need to go into the setup of that icon to set the necessary baud rates and everything else.
You or somebody else must have set it up once already. If it wasn't you then maybe get the person who did it for you.
Do you know what baud rate the CNC is using? Set easydnc the same. Then set 7 bits, even parity, flow control xon xoff. Leave all the other settings at their defaults. You could change the name but that doesn't affect how it works.
Now try to send a file from CNC to computer. What happens.
