Topic:   Change window size of editor

By: TadPosted on: Sep 26 2012 at 12:13:15 PM
We just purchased easydnc and I was playing with cnc editor. I noticed that the window size cannot be changed, as in dragging down the window to see as much of the program as possible. Has there been or is there going to be an update for this?

You say you just purchased it but what version do you have ?

Since version 4.1 easydnc has been supplied with CncCoder. That has no problem using the full screen size. If you have an older version of easyDnc then please don't rush to upgrade. Stick with the software that you know is working with your CNC but you can get a free download of newer editor cncCoder at www.cncCoder.com

Version 4.7. I have a wide screen monitor so when I open Cnc Coder it is all the way on the left. And I am unable to move it to the center of my screen. If I minimize I can then place it in center, but the program only goes halfway down the screen leaving the bottom half with nothing but empty space.

Hello Tad,

That's very strange behaviour. I also have a wide screen display but never noticed anything like that before.

I'll try it again with a couple of different monitors on different computers to see if I can reproduce this. How big is your monitor? What version of windows do you have?

Monitor is 21 1/2 diagonal. Windows 7

I've got 22" Sony and a 22" HP. Running Windows 7 (64bit) I can't see a problem.

Can you take a ScreenPrint and email it to us. We'd really like to see what this looks like.

If you don't have a screen grabber do this:-

1. Hit the PrintScreen (PrtSc) key on the keyboard (At this stage nothing happens)
2. Open MS Paint (Programs/Accessories/Paint) and a blank document appears. Press CTRL-V on your keyboard and the image of the screen will be pasted into the page.
3. Save the image as a bmp or jpg file
4. Email it to us here at:-

OK, now I know what the problem is.

You have Windows 7 set to a non-standard font/icon size.

Click your windows desktop with the RIGHT mouse button and select “Personalize”. A window opens for display settings. In the bottom left corner of that window is an option “Display”. Click that and another window appears where you have the option to make things bigger.

100% is normal. Or bigger than normal 125% or 150%.

I think you have it set to 125%

Unfortunately we didn’t make cncCoder compatible with non-standard display settings.

I hope this is something we can fix in future.
