When you select a file from a 'different' folder it asks if you want to make this into the default folder - isn't that working for you ?

After I get my default folder set how I want it is there a way to get it to quit asking me if I want to change it? I have many different folder for different companies I do work for.

If I understood correctly you do work for a number of different clients and the cnc programs for each of those is in a different folder and you don't want to keep changing folders and answering the "change it" prompt.

I'd suggest adding more MC icons, one for each company that you do work for. Set each of them to have the same cnc/communications/port settings but a different folder. That way each company you work for has a different folder and you won't see the "do you want to change it" prompt any more.

Sorry but that is not an option. I do work for 30+ companies with hundreds of parts many with more than one operation. total amount of folders 3000+. Number of programs unknown. How about adding a dont show me this again check box to the next update? That way i just set my main folder as default, and i am done.

Just a thought

The next version (5) has already been specified.

That version has a folder select option for each machine. Each machine has two folders. One for outgoing data and one for incoming data. They can of course be the same folder. The software never asks - you must set the default folder(s) manually via setup

v5 does it like that because when receiving files from the CNC they can be saved automatically so the software needs to know which folder to save file in to. You can also 'request' files using the cnc console (without running back to the computer) so the software needs to know which folder to pull files from.

v5 later this year

I also think it would be good to have a function to stop the program asking to make the specific folder the default folder. I have a few operators that always specify yes as they are unsure what the program is asking and just push yes, mostly happens Monday morning after a big weekend.
