We are having issues trying to drip feed files to the controllers. No matter what settings we use both controllers give the error "Buffer Overflow" while drip feeding.
The PC`s are running Win-Vista (home).
We`ve turned off FIFO. Slowed the baud rate from 19200 to 9600. We`ve also tried Xon/Xoff (std) and Xon/Xoff (wait). Confirmed controller communication settings (data bits, parity, stop bits & flow control). All these changes at some point gave the same result.
The buffer overflow occurs at different locations. When the overflow occurs the EasyDNC is still waiting on a comunication from the controller to send more data.

In easyDnc`s setup is a parameter labelled "Block Delay" Try increasing that to the max.

Been there done that, maxed it out and still had the same problem.

What happens if you take the baud rate down another step - maybe 4800 or even 2400. At those speeds you probably won`t need such a large BlockDelay.
I`m not saying you should run at such a slow speed permanently but just try it to see what happens.
It really depends on the speed of your machining process - if you machine quickly at a low baud rate then the cnc`s buffer will run out of data and the process jerks and stutters which isn`t good. But often the machining process is quite slow so high baud rates aren`t always required.
Send me an email.

That is on my list of things to try. At the moment both machines and PC`s are tied up with work. I`ll have an answer for by the end of next week.

I finaly got to test the 4800 setting on the controller and got the same result. Anything else we can try?

Hello.
I have a 15M controller and I had the same problem, but I changed one of the settings from at 3 to a 4 in the controller and it fixed the problem.
Cheers.

NZRAIN - any information on `which` setting you changed would be interesting.
Thanks
