Installed ezdnc on laptop...made up a connector as suggested in diagram...set parameters on control and set the ezdnc settings accordingly...I get nothing...no upload/no download. I have no idea if the two are even communicating or not.

Is there a way to even tell if the two are communicating?

I have gone through the upload/download process per machine manuals instructions to a T...just nothing.

I have the software open and the machine set to receive...I go to my machine control and hit send...machine has a flashing "output" or "lsk" but nothing is happening.

WTF?? Any suggestions?

Let me clarify...the software is open, the machine icon is selected and right-click set to "receive"

I go to the machine and hit "punch" and it flashes "output" but I'm getting nothing on pc end...same deal going the other way to except it is flashing "lsk"

When the computer is set to 'receive' and you select a file on the cnc and hit "Punch" then I would expect to see "something" on the computer display. Even if the communications parameters are all wrong you would usually see trash on the computer display.

The fanuc has a number of ports. Usually there's only one on the outside of the CNC but internally there's more. In the CNC setup you need to make sure that it's set to input/output through the correct port (device)

If the

Did you check the cnc settings at www.dncsetup.com ?

ok...the culprit was the usb-9 pin adapter I bought from Radio Shack for fifty bucks!!

Using another laptop with a 9 pin out I am uploading to my computer just fine.
Sending to the machine however throws a parity alarm on my control...btw, I set the software up using the auto scan function...I'm guessing I need to just go in and set the parity manually to the settings from the above link?

50 bucks !! I buy them for $3 of eBay and they work just fine with easyDnc

"Parity" can be one of two thing. First there's the byte parity - that's the parity setting in easyDnc,

Secondly there's the "TV Check" (Block parity) which is a setting in your CNC. Always switch that off in the CNC.
