Please note that this thread discusses a version of easyDnc used on the Linux operating System (not Windows)
-----------
Hello, we are a small family company in south america, we are making a shift from windows to Linux, i foud DNC-X some weeks ago and i`m running it in Puppy Linux.
My first attemps to transmit went not completely good as part of the code its not received (the end of it).
We used to use "communicate" software to send the programs to the Fanuc so i copy the configuration of this program to make DNC-X work.
DNC-X sends the code, it is being received but FANUC m11 gives me the following error:
FRAMING ERROR SR823
this happens when i send small code to the machine to hold it in itś memory.
when i tried to send larger code -with FANUC at tape mode and with cycle start- the machine moves following the code but suddenly stops, and gives error again.
I dont know what to do, the settings are the following:
- Baud rate 2400
- Data Bits 7
- Stop Bits 2
I tried both, with flow control and without but its not making any difference.
I really appreciate any kind of help , thanks for developing the software we really consider donating to the project if it gets to works for us.

1. number of bits - for example if using 7 data bits then you must also use "Even" Parity.
2. Data corruption caused by high speed, long distanc or other electrical `interference`.
Check that easyDnc is configured to 7 databits with Even parity.
Try using a very low baud rate - I`m not saying that you should use a low speed forever but try a low speed to see if the error goes away. | |

it transmits the code but at the end the framing error persists,
when code its short. if it is longer, it stops suddenly.
its a pitty, we really had our eye on easyDNC for the fanuc M11.
now we will give a try to Fanuc m6...i will keep you updated about this new aproach to our CNC machinery and easyDNC...

Do you still have a Windows computer ? Maybe a laptop ? Could you try the Windows version of easyDnc just to confirm that works without error - If we could confirm that easyDnc for Windows works then we'd know it's a Linux issue and I'd set up a portable computer with Puppy Linux and see if I can reproduce your error.
