is it possible to use this machine with easy dnc and how to configure?
By: Guest | Posted on: Oct 27 2009 at 09:09:31 PM | If the machine is able to output data then you can try easyDnc's PortScan feature.
If the machine can not output data then you'd need to know the communications settings, baud rate, databits, parity and set those manually into easyDnc's setup. Set easyDnc's 'mode' to none and leave all the other settings at their defaults.
Load up a CNC program into the transmit window, get the cnc ready to receive 9input data) and hit easyDnc's 'send' button and see what happens .
What happens ? | |
By: Guest | Posted on: Oct 28 2009 at 03:12:13 PM | Machine can output data, but I did not get anything come up on computer and machine said "communication error".
By: Guest | Posted on: Oct 28 2009 at 08:36:58 PM | If machine said communication error when trying to output data then it's usually a cable problem. Many machines need a short link between pins 6, 8 and 20 at the CNC end of the cable. Most cables bought from computer stores, radio-shack etc don't have the connection to pin 8 so most shop bought cables don't work for DNC. Can you check if you have that short link.
On the other hand it's also possible that the machine needs some special protocol which would only work with koike's own comms equipment - do they supply any comms equipment ? or maybe computer software? What kind of communications equipment or software they supply might help decide whether the machine is DNC-able
By: Guest | Posted on: Nov 3 2009 at 02:36:06 PM | they wouldn't give any software or information, they just offer RS2332C to USB reader for big money instead.
I will try to check the cable.
By: Guest | Posted on: Nov 3 2009 at 02:56:31 PM | RS232 has 10 pins per end. you suggest to short 6th and 8th pin on computer end with 10th pin on CNC end?
By: Guest | Posted on: Nov 3 2009 at 08:35:55 PM | No - if the RS232 has 10 pins then it's not a standard RS232 connector so don't make any connections
What does the connector look like. ? Do you have a picture ?
Do you have a description or listing of what the pins are ? There should be some information showing the pin numbers against the signal carried by that pin such as TX, RX, RTS, CTS, DTR etc etc
If they don't give any software have they recommended which software to use ? - I mean if they're selling a cable then one ought to assume that there is 'some' software somewhere that can be used.
By: Guest | Posted on: Nov 4 2009 at 11:53:19 AM | yes, I can take a photo, but I cannot find where I can submit it here. It is the same connector as an old style computer mouse. On CNC it is named RS-232C and is female type. It is written that DNC Link software must be installed on host computer to run in Dialog mode. Several program branding is available, contact your system vendor for more information bla bla bla... but they of course are interested in selling their accessories, not give any information or computer software.
By: Guest | Posted on: Nov 4 2009 at 12:32:11 PM | I just find out that it could be used with Linatrol software from Wescanltd. I'ļl try to find out how the demo works.
By: Guest | Posted on: Nov 5 2009 at 08:10:49 PM | If it's the same as the old style computer mouse then it is 9 pin - not 10.
By: Guest | Posted on: Nov 16 2009 at 06:17:34 PM | yes, it is 9 pin, sorry for mistake
By: Guest | Posted on: Nov 16 2009 at 06:21:14 PM | can you suggest anything in this case?
By: Mike | Posted on: Nov 17 2009 at 05:29:15 PM | What does your cable look like ?
If the CNC has a standard RS232 port then it ought to be wired like.
2 - 3
3 - 2
5 - 5
7 - 8
8 - 7
and at the CNC end of the cable make a short link to short/connect the pins 6-8-1 together. These don't go down the cable to the other end, just a short link shorting those 3 pins together.
Is that what your cable looks like ?
By: Support | Posted on: Nov 19 2009 at 03:47:16 PM | Thanks Mike
I will add that Mike;s cable is based on the connectors at BOTH ends being 9pin.

it runs the same machine link as d-6 d6b d-10 d-10plus d-11 d-80. From koike
By: Guest | Posted on: Jun 26 2012 at 09:18:19 PM | my controller recently started to give commutations err ;timeout and sometimes framing it has worked fine for two and a half years i slowed the baud rate and it kinda worked fine for about a week but now it wont hardly do anything even when baud is slowed even further it is still acting up
By: Guest | Posted on: Jun 26 2012 at 09:22:58 PM | is there anything that i can do to troubleshoot the problem posted above
By: Guest | Posted on: Jun 27 2012 at 08:54:50 AM | Check your cable. Specifically the solder joints in the connectors.
By: Guest | Posted on: Jun 27 2012 at 04:17:03 PM | ok i will try that thank u
