By: lou | Posted on: Nov 11 2007 at 11:42:46 PM | Hello,
I am using your trial programme to run a VMC. I have got the cnc to download with no problem at all using your software.
I cannot get the pc to upload I have tried changing parameters etc but to no avail. The machine is a GMC600 and Leadwell can not give me any info on settings etc. have altered stop bits, parity different cable configirations using an Interfaker Box.
I think there may be a signal that the machine requires before it will accept data.
Any advice would be welcome.

At the bottom of the easyDnc transmit window is a progress bar that scrolls left to right showing a percentage. Does that move ? Part of the way ? all the way ?
Does the CNC appear to receive data (maybe show the program name/number) but then time-out or does the machine throw an error as soon as easyDnc starts to send ? Or does the CNC appear to do absolutely nothing ?

I am running into the same problem with the same control, same trial version. I wanted to be sure the software works prior to buying, since this control seems so outdated.
No progress shows, and my control shows E04 Device Not Ready.
Any suggs?
And thanks, Paul | |

If you have easyDnc`s flow control set to XonXoff with one of the `Wait` options then switch it to just XonXoff (without any wait option)
If you have easyDnc`s flow control set to RTS/CTS then do the same (XonXoff without any of the wait options)
The above changes will mean that easyDnc sends the data as soon as you hit the Send button so you`ll need to get the machine ready to receive data and then hit the `Send` button on easyDnc.
If the Not Ready signal happens on the CNC a good few seconds after you put the CNC in to receive mode then the above flow control changes might fix it. It could be that the machine waits for a while but then times-out.
If ob the other hand the machine throws that error immediately, the very instant you put it in receive mode it throws the error, then it`s more than likely a cable problem.
What does the cable look like ?
Try this
assuming the PC is a 9pin
PC2 > CNC2
PC3 > CNC3
PC5 > CNC7
At the CNC Pins 4 and 5 short linked to each other (not back to the PC)
Pins 6, 8 and 20 are also short linked to each other. so the only wires going back to the PC are pins 2, 3 and 7
At the PC end of the cable short link pins 1/4/6 to each other and 7/8
By: Paul | Posted on: Feb 26 2008 at 05:27:16 PM | The progress% does not move at all. If I switch my box to a different machine that is not running, EasyDNC sends the info, and the progress% works.
I tried changing the flow control, and that did not help either.
Is it possibly a data communication error, such as baud rate? We have been loading programs from the PC that are generated by Mastercam for some time now. The cable should work for both, right?
As soon as I tell my control to receive in communication, it throws up the E04 code.
How can I tell you what the cable looks like?
Thanks again, Paul | |

If settings such as baud rate were wrong then easyDnc would still send data, it just wouldn`t arrive at the other end correctly.
Are you able to send data from the CNC back to the computer ? I know you didn`t ask about doing that but it`s often easier to diagnose problems in that direction ?
The cable, I meant how are the pins connected ? Yes, if the cable works with one software/program then it ought to work with easyDnc as well
