Am having no luck communicating with our LB25 and was wondering if there are any machine parameters that need set before this can work. the control is an OSP5020L.

Hello Argo,

No, there`s no settings for easyDnc, it`s supposed to be automatic. At the Okuma you need to set up a couple of things

There`s an optional Parameter bit settings #1 00001011 ISO code
and #2 10100010 sets up the stop bits, parity etc.

Paremeters 44,45,and 46 all zero and 54=1. Sets up the read/write punch devices etc.

To send/receive data F3 PIP Then F1 or F2

There`s also a parameter fro the tape leader. Some recommend setting it to zero but shouldn`t be a problem as long as it`s not huge (otherwise it takes ages to send lots of nothings)

But, after all that there might be something in easyDnc that`s stopping it working. been a while since I tested it on an okuma. I`ll take a look and let you know.

I have a okuma lb25 with a 5020 controler I need to change the chuck to gripping inward instead of outward, I understand this is done in the parameter, but which one? also I need to turn on and off the tailstock in the parameter which one does that? I have the books but it doesn't tell me. thanks if you can answer RB
