Topic: Saving programs
|
By: Jeff Lipot | Posted on: Jul 22 2008 at 02:58:55 PM | We have revision numbers on our prints. So when saving a program, we usually save it like this : (104122.001 or 104122.002 etc.) The .001, represents the revision.
The problem is that when I save as a .001, it overwrites the original program with no revision number. But it will save with .002 .003 .004 and so on.
[b:d1837a5d2a]EXAMPLE:[/b:d1837a5d2a] When saving as 104122.001, it saves over 104122
Any suggestions ? Thanks

I created a file called 104122 and then saved a file called 104122.001 into the same folder. I now have two seperate files in that folder.
It did not over write the original 104122 file.
Which version of easyDnc and which operating system are you using ?

Only does it when saving as .001

This in itself isn`t a problem but windows automatically hides the extension of know file types which can sometimes be little confusing.
Got to `MyComputer` and Open the folder where the files are.
In the menu bar at the top select
Tools>FolderOptions and select the `View` tab.
A list of options with checkboxes appears. One of the options is
`Hide extensions for known file types`.
Uncheck that option.
Click OK and close the window.
You should now see the full file names.
