Topic: Search Buffer text
|
By: Guest | Posted on: May 12 2010 at 03:58:17 PM | is there a way to search the buffer quickly? we have very long programs and we want to be able to search say... for a tool if we break a cutter. rather than having the operator scroll manually thru thousands of lines of code before restarting the program.

Not a perfect solution but once you've done it a few times it doesn't take more than a couple of seconds.

Of course you're right. We could add a search button to the data buffer window. In fact we do intend doing that in a future version.
MacroTech is just telling you what "he" does using existing versions of software.
Taking this a little further - as well as the search capability we're also adding a "Start From Here" capability meaning you don't need to delete all the text above that point.
Timescale for this update is V5 later this year, Maybe august/september 2010
