We love your software, and want to purchase it but we can`t seem to even get started. We are trying to go from a USB to 25 pin adpater to an older OKUMA OPS 5000L (green screen) serial port. As soon as we connect, the control shuts down. We have checked your wire configuarions but don`t know how to compare this to a USB. At this point we have just been guessing. Any advise using USB?

Did you ever use the same cable on the okuma with a normal PC Com port ?
The USB shouldn`t be any different. (I assume the USB is a 9pin RS232 and you use a 9-to-25 pin cable. Can you open the cable and see how the pins are connected ?
When you say the okuma shuts down. Do you mean the power goes off on the control ?

Unfortunetly, we are going from a tape reader to computer w/ USB. We have never used a normal COM port on this machine.
As for the power, we have always shut the machine down when a tape reader is connected. So we do the same and shut down the machine, connect the computer and power the machine up. The control will not power up.

Are you able to open the cable and see how the pins are wired ? I don`t mean the USB cable. I man the cabled that connects directly to the CNC.
