Those using Prolific chipset appear to have most problems but thats just because they're the most common. Often the drivers installed automatically by windows are the wrong ones so windows says the device is working properly but it just doesnt work. You have to go to the manufacturer's website to get the proper drivers.
As long as you have the correct drivers installed they all work just fine.
And that is the #1 priority. Buy from a reputable website that has downloadable device driivers for all versions of MS Windows. Get the device and the drivers from the same source.
