Topic:   Use on Windows IPad

I was wondering about attaching a windows pad to the side of my machine. Could make small edits to a program if needed but also just send/receive programs without going right back to the office computer

any reason why that won't work?

IPad is apple name for their non-windows device. But if you mean a windows tablet then yes. Just make sure you have an Intel or AMD processor (not one of the latest ARM versions)

One thing to look out for is the power supply cable. Many tablets have the power supply connected to the USB port. If the tablet has more than one USB or a separate charging port then that's the kind of tablet you want because yu'll need to connect your RS232 serial cabe to a USB.

Apart from that it's fine. We have a few tablets on our machines all picking up files from a drive in the office. Ours are Windows 8 so likely not available any more but any Intel/Amd/Windows tablet should work fine provided you have separate power and usb ports.
