We currently have 4.7 on 2 other computers. Need to add one more, so I downloaded 5.0, cause it was a newer version. This will be dedicated to one machine. Don't there is a an advantage to using 5.0 for our application. Is there a price difference between 4.7 and 5.0 ?

V5 is newer. More compatible with newer versions of windows.

easyDnc v5 is the same price as v4.

The easydnc.com website also shows a product called RemoDNC. That is a bigger product with more features and that is more expensive. But for just one machine i would suggest that easyDnc is just fine.

Ok thanks. Just set it up, and sends and recieves fine. But when program is sent to machine, it just stops and doesn't rewind to the begining, like it's still recieving. I get the whole program though. Fanuc 10t control. 4.7 never acted that way with same settings. ???

Jeff. That means that the dnc is still trying to send something but the cnc has closed the port. Probably just blank tape leader or a couple of control codes that the cnc doesn't want. But the dnc doesn't know that so it will sit waiting.

So, in the dnc setup change the transmit timeout. For example set tx timeout to 5 and at the end of the program the dnc will wait 5 seconds and then reset back to the start.

Set timeout to 5 and still doesn't rewind. Also I can't send to pc. When I hit punch on the machine, it just sits there, with no errors.

Working fine now. Ended up being a bad connector on cable. Thanks for you help.
