Topic: Will not wait on CNC to send a file

Have V 4.0 easyDnc. Will receive a file from Fanuc OT-C controller without any problems. When I try to download a program from Laptop to CNC it begins transmitting before I ask the CNC to read the file. Feel like the cable and setup on both ends are OK because I can download PC parameters, NC parameters, offsets, pitch errors, NC programs, ETC on 22 machines W/O any problems. Tried changing from Xon/Xoff to wait, and all it did was wait. What am I missing?

In easyDnc set it to XonXoff. Not the wait option.

Press the read button on the CNC and then hit the send button on easyDnc.

Does that work?

Think I tried that. It will be next week beforeI get back to this jobsite and verify that. Will advise when I get back in town.

Tried pressing read button and then send on PC. Didn't work. Set easyDnc to "wait any" and it will start output when I press read button on CNC. However, the CNC does not read the data. No errors. The CNC screen goes back to ready state almost immediatly, like it is starting the read process, but not looking for data. Got to be something in the CNC, but I can't figure it out. Checked parameters in Fanuc until I'm cross-eyed. Any one had this problem with an older Fanuc OT-C?

Problem solved. Changed out the memory board in the Fanuc. Comm port(s) are mounted on memory board. Something must have gone awry with the ports so that they would allow parameter read/write, but not NC program read/write.
