I'm ok punching programs, but when I'm going from PC to CNC I'm getting an "Incorrect Designated Data" error in blue. Could this be a cable setup issue or more likely a parameter issue?

Incorrect designated data would normally indicate a syntax error in the program that you are sending to the machine.
Could be something as simple as a parity error.
Is this relevant? An important thing to note is that the mazak will often be set to 8 bits even parity but the DNC software must be set to 7bits even parity.
Although, thinking about it, parity error has its own alarm so incorrect designated data would probably be the program itself. Something wrong with the general layout. Maybe the start or end of the program aren't formatted correctly.
Try punching out a program and then without changes send it back in again.
