Topic: PC to Amada Vipros 255
|
By: Guest | Posted on: Jul 22 2008 at 05:01:13 PM | Hi,
I`ve downloaded and installed easydnc on an old Toshiba laptop (win98)
I`ve pinned the RS232 cable as per existing connection.
With the exception the old (not working) pc had a COM card with 25 pin ports and the laptop only had a 9 pin COM.
[25PIN AmadaCNC] [9PIN PC]

3---------------------------2
4----} (4&5 Joined)
5----}

8--} (6,8&20 Joined)
20-}
7---------------------------7
I`m not getting any communications either way.
I`ve tried the port scan and punch from CNC, but I get nothing.
So I`ve done the settings manually.
Baud 9600
Parity None
Data bits 8
Stop Bits 1
Not too sure about Flow Control (tried them all)
The old software had check boxes FoutX & FinX both checked.
I`ve checked the settings on another machine (Amada 358King)
Baud9600, DataBits7, Stop Bits1, Parity Even.
These setting don`t work either.
I`m a little stuck what to try next?
Is there something I`m missing?
Thanks

The pins on a 25 pin DO NOT have ANY similarity to pin numbers on a 9pin connector. (Pins 2 and 3 are `the other way round`) and signal ground is pin 5 not pin 7)
Try this.
Amada DNC Setup
Pins 4, 5 and 6, 8, 20 in your diagram are correct. The problem is Pin 2, 3 and 7. | |

The CNC in/out is still functioning properly... so luckily no harm done!
I`ll get the changes made and report back.
I think this should fix the problem.
Thanks
