CNC / DNC Settings for Mazak T2

Proper serial port configuration for the Mazak T2 controller is essential for reliable DNC data transmission. While the control may be configured for 8-bit internally, the DNC software must generally be set to 7-bit, Even Parity to ensure error-free communication. Mismatched baud rates or improper handshaking protocols (XON/XOFF vs. Hardware RTS/CTS) are common causes of data transfer failures. Verify your parameter settings and cable configuration carefully; aligning the software handshake to the control's specific requirements is critical for preventing buffer overflows and ensuring stable program loading. For persistent communication errors, confirm that your cable shielding is grounded correctly and that the COM port settings on the PC match the controller parameters exactly.

Cable Diagram 1

The cable shown above is the most commonly used version and supports XON/XOFF (DC1/DC3) flow control.

If your CNC machine is configured for RTS/CTS (Hardware) flow control, please refer to the alternative connection diagram below, which typically supports both types of control.
